“New creators on the block” partner with Meta to engage young Gen Z sports fans
Sydney based, sports production agency ‘I Want It Yesterday’, have been added to Meta, formally known as Facebook Inc, list of preferred production agencies in Australia.
The digital-first production house launched in November 2020 and has quickly made a name for itself securing projects with a range of sports entities including beIN SPORTS Australia, Tennis Australia, Optus Sport, Australian Professional Leagues (APL), and SailGP.
I Want It Yesterday Co-founder, Claudio Fabiano, on the partnership with Meta:
“We are very excited to explore the possibilities of working with Meta to help brands better align with new forms of sports storytelling and empower creators to maximize their potential on Facebook and Instagram.”
With an average age of only 25, I Want It Yesterday is challenging traditional production workflows and shaping sports culture with a growing list of creators who form part of their experimental DNA.
“We’re seeing that young sports fans don't want to be sold to. They want brands to work harder to build meaningful connections through authentic and relevant content and experiences. I personally believe we can be doing a better job in Australia to also strive for greater diversity of representation within the sports media landscape and we are helping to drive positive change”, Claudio added.
I Want It Yesterday are also working with creators and Meta to pioneer new live show formats between live match day experiences, leaning on new, cloud-based remote production and graphics technologies. Recent examples include an NBA Finals show called “Bricks & Dimes” for ESPN Australia, and an “Old Firm Derby Watch-a-long” show for beIN SPORTS Australia, both distributed live to Facebook (and other destinations simultaneously) with the ability to include fans with social comment capture/display and live polling to drive the narrative.
